While hundreds of patients have had successful surgical rejuvenation of the face, eyes and forehead at Hamptons Plastic Surgery, Dr.'s Pfeifer and Palumbo realize that not everyone is a candidate for surgery and even if they are, some patients just want to do something to look younger that is simpler and has little or no "down time"
Recently, we have introduced an exciting new concept in facial rejuvenation for those patients who are not ready for the traditional surgical facelift. The procedure involves the injection of various fillers and wrinkle-busters in areas of the face that show obvious signs of aging such as the forehead, eyelids, cheeks, jawline, neck and the peri-oral area which includes the deep folds on the sides of the nose (nasolabial folds) and lips.
In a 30-minute visit, you will have small amounts of Botox or Dysport injected to soften creases in the forehead, frown lines, crow's feet area, upper lip lines and neck wrinkles. At the same time, Radiesse, Restalyne, Juvederm or our newest long-acting filler Sculptra are used to restore fullness to the cheekbone area and smooth out the naso-labial folds. The jawline and neck can also be rejuvenated with these same fillers. All of these procedures are complimented with our full line of skin care products and various dermal peels, to help maintain and prolong your more youthful appearance.
Keep this in mind, however. The results of an injectable facelift are not permanent. We expect them to last six months or more, some patients needing touch-ups sooner than six months, others going eight months or longer. Sculptra can last for up to two years in some patients.
A traditional surgical facelift should last five to ten years longer. But for patients who do not need or are not yet ready for surgery, the injectables are a great and safe alternative. Please visit the office to see if you are a good candidate for this procedure. Some patients have so much skin sag in the jowl and neck, or such heavy folds around the nose and mouth, that the "non-surgical" approach is simply not feasible. The pros and cons of all these procedures will be discussed fully during your consultation.
