Often, patients will seek consultation for procedures they have had elsewhere, and which, for one reason or another, they are unhappy with. Drs. Pfeifer and Palumbo understand that many times, patients are uncomfortable discussing prior procedures, or other surgeons, and we sympathize with the frustration and disappointment when prior surgery has not had the desired effect. In these cases, our surgeons and staff will help in obtaining records and speaking with the surgeons who will be able to provide information about the original operation, all of which will be critical in planning the revision. You will also be told whether a revision is even feasible, or to what degree any improvement is possible.
Remember, all surgeons at one time or another have addressed an "unhappy" patient, and most surgeons, at the appropriate time, will attempt a revision if one is possible. But in those circumstances when a second opinion is advisable, or if a patient is simply not happy going back to the original surgeon, we are here to help.
